About
"The Name Interactive Support Services completely describes Wendy’s Teams approach to Support Coordination."
The word Interactive can be broken down into two parts the prefix “inter” means “among,” “in the midst of,” “together,” and “Active” can be defined as engaged in action; characterised by energetic work. This busy work between Wendy’s team and their clients is evident by:
- Regular discussions with clients
- Regular contact between Coordinator’s and clients other Service providers, community groups and government departments to ensure a unified approach to help clients achieve goals
- Regular updates and detailed case notes on action plans and goal progress.
Wendy makes sure she meets all of her clients personally and ensures that they always feel the “interactive” difference.
Our Team
Hi, I'm Wendy Cheney
- Founder and Support Coordinator
I have worked in disability and mental health space for almost 30 years and I have lived experience as a mother of a person with a disability.
Since NDIS rolled out in the Darling Downs Region I worked for many different Service Providers in the roles of Service Manager and then Support Coordinator.
I have worked in the community services sector and disability space for a number of years. With a strong background in disability employment services, disability supports and support coordination, I found my passion that sees me striving to assist NDIS participants achieve their goals.
Having originally come from a banking background. I utilise my financial diploma skills in making sure that NDIS budgets work for the best outcomes of all participants. I am an active member of many NDIS forums and strongly advocate for anyone with a disability and believe everyone should have a voice.
In my spare time I love nothing more than to cook for family and friends, including my rescue animals which are currently 2 cats and 2 dogs. I enjoy reading and practicing calligraphy and writing poems for eulogies.
